Lidl eggs

Does anyone else find Lidl eggs strangely tasteless with a green tinge?

I brought the free range ones once and they didn't taste so good, so used them in a cake. The other week I thought I'd try the organic, but they taste of nothing at all and scrambled eggs looked vaguely green!

  • We use their cheap packs of 10 eggs and have never had a problem, and that is with an omelette-mad 21 year-old daughter!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Yep we use the 10 pk cheap ones also with no probs. No shops round me can match them in price.

I often buy freerange eggs from Lidl and they are fine.

I particularly noticed this too. Was unimpressed with the free range ones. Nothing like as nice looking and tasting as the ones from Sainsbury's. Small and puny looking with a slightly neon-looking yolk and tasteless.

Noticed this a couple of weeks ago. I suppose they could be technically free-range, but not particularly well-fed/looked after?? Suspicious as to whether they were the real McCoy and wouldn't buy again.
