I wanna: Swimming Goggles that don't fog up

Morning,

My request is basically as it says in the title
I wear glasses, but have enough vision to cope without my glasses in the pool. My eyes however, can not abide the chlorine and come out red raw if I swim without my glasses.

So, I'm looking for recommendations for a pair of goggles that won't fog up the minute I put my face in the water and that will allow me to swim more than two lengths before I need to submerge them to remove the fog - or suggestions on how to prevent the fog from happening!

I swim 5 times a week, so don't mind paying a bit for comfort/quality - I just don't want to pay over the odds for a product that doesn't live up to the hype. :D

Much obliged, as ever.
I swim, so I can eat more cake...

I was told that rubbing spit on the inside glass prevented fog up... not very hygenic but effective..I swim often too but the chlorine levels shouldn't be bad enough to cause your eyes to be red raw unless you are ultra sensitive otherwise people wouldn't be able to take tiny babies in the water .

  • There are quite a few products that say they stop mirrors fogging - perhaps worth trying one of those. I have also heard that rubbing neat washing-up liquid on the surfaces prevents fogging, though I have never tried that either.

Second the problem with chlorine though - might not leave my eyes red raw, but it is really uncomfortable if it gets in my eyes.

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?s=anti+fog goggles

if the link doesn't work, go to 'Wiggle' then, product search for anti-fog goggles. Good products, fast delivery, and they often have very good sales deals, so if you're not in a rush, it's worth having a good luck to find the best deal they're offering

  • You could try washing your googles in warm soapy water, then drying them with a piece of kitchen towel ...
  • With our scuba diving masks we always spit in them, rub it round and wash them out. Works much better than anti fogging solutions.

And no it not just me that does that, everyone does.

That's right. Saliva. Furthermore I have my goggles to prescription so I can see the clock and not miss my bus.

I got some new Speedo goggles recently, tried them on in the shop and they were a good tight fit (without leaving marks for 24 hours afterwards) and they don't fog up..amazing.
Otherwise gobbing on them, not when the pool lifeguard's watching, probably is the best idea :(
  • I was wondering if anybody knew of any goggles that are super thin AND that they don't fog up???
