Use your fridge to heat your home!

Maybe this one should be on 'Green and Ethical'!
I've just realised that the heat my fridge-freezer pumps out at the back as a by-product of the refrigeration process is going to waste, more or less.
I'd like to make use of it although, as I imagine is the case with most people's appliances, mine is very difficult to access in that area!
Any clever ideas?

I don't see that it would be a problem provided the laundry wasn't obstructing the flow of air at the back of the fridge. If it was above it taking advantage of natural convection it shouldn't pose a hazard. I guess you could put foil on the wall behind the fridge to reflect the heat away. The foil would have to be flush to the wall and not in contact with the fridge. If you have any option you could position the fridge on an internal wall. However considering the fridge is venting heat to the atmosphere inside of your house I don't see how the energy is being wasted in any case. Not in the winter time anyway.0

Unless the warm air is being vented to the outside world then the heat is already being added to your house.Happy chappy0 -
