Great cardio vascular machine

Options
Hello all, I'm hoping against hope that someone here can help me in my search as I'm rapidly losing the will to live.

My gym, part of a big chain, used to have some CV machines called Treadclimbers that were great! My weight loss was greatly helped by using these right up until the gym got rid of them!

I'm now desperately searching for another gym in the Preston/Bolton/Wigan area that has them. I've tried ringing around but half the people on reception have no idea what day it is let alone what machines are actually in their gym and then try the hard sell anyway.

I know it's not really MSE but I'm willing to pay over the odds for a flash gym just for the sake of this machine, I've even seriously considered buying one off ebay but I have nowhere to put it!

I find all the other machines boring and soon loose interest and head back to the biscuit tin for consolation.

Does anyone here, in the NW visit a gym with this machine; I (and my thunder thighs) will be forever in your debt if you can help.

Ah! They used to have these in one of the gyms I used to be at.

They are discontinued as the company who made them went bust! Not made by Life Fitness or Polar or the other brand who make the other machines and others in the gym were very disappointed when they were pulled. Basicly they needed to be repaired frequently and as the company had stopped existing it became harder and harder to get them repaired until they were obselete.

You could try google but I'd be very wary that if they ever did develop a fault they would not be so easy to repair.

I'd suggest a stairmaster or stairmill- now those things kill!! (Way harder then an elliptical machine and you get a far higher cardio intensity, few gyms have them though and most of the time the machines that gyms have run close to £10000, the machine you were talking about wasn't a far throw from that!)
