My least favorite lender.
Massive, cumbersome, inefficient and just down right dreadful.
You will find people who got a good outcome, but on average my experience is poor. Think about - they recently aquired other lendrs and that mass upheaval has ramifications.
Rates will likely go up soon too.0 -
Thanks for your reply Conrad. How long did it take for you to get your mortgage? As i would like to be in my new house asap0

Be prepared for them to come back again and again for information - even if you have already sent it in.
They can even turn around and change their requirements midway through the application, depending on which underwriter you talk to (even if if has been discussed at the outset)!I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I am about to exchange with a Santander mortgage. They were superfast at processing it initially (via Broker) and they had underwritten and done valuation within a week. Problems began when I changed the property - completely foxed them and they took an age to process a single bit of paper. When I changed again, they decided they needed to underwrite me/credit check me and ask me for every bit of paper under the sun before they finally said OK after three weeks.0

I know you won't be getting the best deals with that level of deposit but that looks like a pretty rubbish rate to me. That is 4.49% above the base rate.
HSBC are doing a lifetime tracker with a 10% deposit at 4.29% that is 3.79% above the base rate with a £99 booking fee.0
