We're just starting to get over yesterday when I read this
According to the info DD has seen, then on what we know at the moment you should be assessed under the old IPA rules.
Obviously, without anything official about this released into the public domain by the Insolvency Service it's not possible to say here that it's all set in stone.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks Fermi. That's how I was reading it on here as well. Fingers crossed, i'm sure we'll find our next Thurs on our OR phonecall!0 -
As i am planning to go Bankrupt is there anything i can do right now before Dec 1st that will allow me to come under the old rules?0

This will probably upset a few posters on here, but you should stand back and read what you are writing.
In some cases posters are arguing that they would not have gone br if they might now get an IPA, you have had £000's written off and how else would you get by. Okay you may have to tighten the belt for 3 years if you get an IPA, surely a small price to pay. Agh you say I will take out an IVA , but what if that fails after say 4 years and all that living on tighter allowances than br is for nothing as you will still go br.
I admit the timing is bad, but we through one way in another have ended up in this position, thankfully through br my wife and I have had a chance to rebuild our lives. If we hadn't done it we would probably now be homeless , jobless and facing total despair. Br is not for everyone, but it has its benefits and complaining that you willnot have any spare money is a small price to pay.
Apart from credit how much spare money have you got now, NOTHING precisely that is why you are thinking of doing it.
Completely agree. Timing is not good and some form of notice period would enable individuals going into BR to be fully aware of how their BR will work. This is only fair when making their decision. I can't beleive that decision would change because of this thread's topic.
Whatever the OR throws at me it would have been better than i was struggling and for a shorter period.
When speaking about my BR experience to close friends who know nothing of BR, they are amazed as to what allowances you are allowed and the shortness of a "possible" 3 year IPA.
ThanksI'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.

Different courts have different proceedures. Some a 1st come 1st serviced, some are appointment only.
Mine was no appointment needed. Turn up and with your money and sorted.
Give them a ring and find out

Even if I have yet to chat with either Cab or CCCS will that hinder things as I have read unless they see that you have sought help first then the court might turn you down?0 -

you need to have taken advice before you go br, or it will be turned down. you could try phoning the national debtline, i think they are open quite late.
i am a little worried you are rushing into this though? please take advice before you do anything else0
