You could try calling customer services if it'll make it easier.
020 7467 1109
or
020 7432 2222
If you need to call your local store then there's plenty of alternative numbers on SAYNOTO0870.COM.0 -

My ipod classic went to its grave after it drowned tonight in the washing machine!! I stupidly forgot to take it out my jacket pocket before washing it!:eek:
Ideal offer as it means I can give the vouchers as Christmas presents.:D

So it’s not excluding the shuffle after all. I’ll update my OP.
Thanks fuzzgun for pointing this out.0 -

Did you just buy this? Can't you bring it back if it's still under guarantee?0 -
If you do have to buy another one - can I suggest you go to Argos? Their guarantee is fantastic, it covers EVERYTHING, from cracked screens to water damage......I know because I have a teenager and they have replaced more than one!
I know you dont get the discount but they usually have an offer on the iPod in the run up to Christmas.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -

I've had it over a year, didn't take out any extra cover on it - can't find the receipt either

Palema, with faulty goods (don't tell them it was your fualt), you simply need proof of purchase. This could be the receipt, but any other legitimate record (e.g. a bank/credit card statement) should be fine.
However, if you have no legal right and are just utilising a store's returns policy; if it requires a receipt, you need it.0
