How do I "go Bankrupt"?

I'm sick sick sick,
I was repossessed a year ago, was made redundant 7 months ago and my wife is disabled on High Rate mobility DLA.
Now I have creditors after me for monies owing from £60 to £25000 (repossession shortfall from GE Money), some of these are alledged debts which were unable to be proven and passed on to other companies.
Obviously I cannot afford to go bankrupt so is there anyway I can do this without having to pay the £500 or so quid it takes to get these people off my back?
As it stands I have no assets, car house, valuables.
thanks

there are some utility firms etc that might be able to help with the costs...apart from that no other way really you can always reduce creditor payments and save towards the fees
you need to speak to one of the free debt agencies before you decide anything...bankruptcy is a last resort option that can have implications for many years to comeWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
