Hi,
Just going to start getting into online gaming but I don't know where to get the ethernet cable from. I have the new slimline PS2 so have the adapter built in. Also should this cable plug staright into the modem?

Glad to hear you are getting into online side of things
You may not be that impressed (the PS2's online offering are not up to much) but there is no need to fork out on the offical expensive cable.
Go to any computer shop and buy a bog-standard network cable (they are referred to as "patch leads" or "straight through" cables). Avoid any that are referred to as "crossover" cables as these look identical, but are wired differently
Hope this helps, and yes it will plug straight into your Router.
