home-made lager/beer

OH wants to start brewing his own lager/beer to save the pennies!!

Anyone know of any cheap-ish kits that are good, and what else will he need to do it? ie what kind of bottles, plastic or glass? Does he just buy the kit, or will he need other stuff as well?

Also any tips on making sure its not flat, cos when he had a go years ago, it always ended up flat and was only good for cleaning the toilet!!! :rotfl:

Wilkinson sell cheap kits. There's everything in the kit except a pressure barrel or bottles to store it in.

You can get a good beer kit for around £8-12 for 40 pints. You'll need a bucket to brew it in, a tube to syphon it off the dregs and then, either bottles or a barrel to keep it in. A lot of kits already come with yeast and finings too.

If possible, go to a brew shop, you'll get great help and advice with it.
