Advice needed, First Time Buyer!!

Hi im a 24 year old male from the North East,

Next year ill be coming into some money, and will be looking to buy my first home,
I havn't the foggiest where to start!

i know ill need a deposit, and the amount of money i earn a year comes into account

I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of how much i might be able to lend, so i can have a browse around the houses in my area

basically,
ill have a deposit of around £20,000
and i earn £ 18,500 per annum

any help would be appreciated!

    I dont have any loans or anything, i have had a loan before, which i repayed in full, so hoping that might have boosted my credit rating.
