Boots Shopping ... Points Offer...

Now is it just my wife or me who has this wrong....

Boots Advertise:

We're offering you the chance to collect £10 worth of Advantage Card points with every £50 you spend instore or online, so there is no excuse not to treat yourself to some fabulous health & beauty products.

Now from memory, last year, spending £50 online I got 200 points for the normal spend (4 points per £1) plus the 1000 bonus points for spending £50 that equals a total of 1200 points.

This year spending £49 I would get 196 points

But if I spend £50 I would get only 1000 points instead of 1200 (like last year).

Is it just me?...I can't see anywhere in the T & Cs that you don't get points for your normal spend PLUS the special offer points.

If thats the case, Boots are only giving me an additional 800 points if I spend £50....I'm already entitled to 200 for the purchase anyway!

SWMBO has been on the Boots site all day looking for Xmas presents...I just need a break...hence posting here....
I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

  • I'm not sure about on-line shopping, but I attended one of the Boots bonus points Xmas events.

    I spent £53 so I received 1,200 (equivalent of £12) for spending £50 THEN 12 additional points (£3 x 4) for my spend OVER £50.

I also received a loyalty voucher worth 500 points so it was well worth doing.

(I saw folk at the checkout spending +£150 but they would have only received 1,200 then say 400 points for their spend over £50, when they should have split their shopping into three separate transactions for 3,600 points!!)

They would have got the 3600 points as its 1200 for every £50 spent. I spent £101 in one transaction and got 2404 points.

In regards to the T&Cs of this offer, it doesn't mention an that they are offering an additional £10 worth of points with the spend, just that they will give you £10 back for every £50 spent. Surely better than only getting £2 back?

The points events give you £10 of points plus your normal £2 of points per £50 spent. The one available now is only an offer and not an 'event'.
