Swindon/Lyneham Eateries
Hello all, taking the wife out for a bite to eat tonight, can anybody recommend a good value eatery? We quite like italian, not so keen on indian, but we'll try anything. Value and good food are the priorities. Only asking because we've not long been living here. Many thanks.

We quite like the parasole chineese in swindon. worth poping in and picking up a menu if you are in swindon to check price and food on offer. Haven't been there for over a year now due to small child. Never managed to find a good Italian.0

For Italian try Fabios in Wood Street.
Some other good places are:
The Sun Inn (British food) at Lydiard Millicent.
Rendevous (Chinese) near the Wyvern theatre Regents Circus.
If you go out towards Malmesbury via J16 M4 then try the 3 Crowns at Brinkworth. You can't book in advance so just show up. Also make sure you are hungry as the portions are big!
Bollingbrook Arms at Hook near Wootton Bassett.
If you fancy a day out then try either of the 2 pubs in Great Bedwin near Marlborough. 1 is one of the top vegie pubs in the UK and the other made it through to the finals of the recent good pub guide.
The Swindon evening Advertiser does pieces on where to eat using a secret shopper, try their website.0 -
Three Crowns now takes Bookings.
Cannot recommend The Bollingbrook Arms at Hook though, worst Steak I have ever had the misfortune to try to eat - full of grisly fat, tasteless and un-eatable0
