Bulger Wheat

Does anyone know where I can get 'bulger wheat' from? I've tried Holland & Barratt which didn't have any. I saw a great recipe on a BBC programme that I want to try.

you can get it in big tescos and online, it's petty cheap

They didn't have it in my local Tesco when I was there. It is quite a big store. I went past a waitrose and popped in and they had it. It is really nice. I prefer it to cous cous.

I like Quinoa and use that as a sort of bulgar/ cous cous thing.

I can find Bulgar wheat in all my local (ish) supermarkets. ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury all do their own brand as well from what I can see. Ocado also have their own brand for home delivery.

Its really just cous cous and Tesco have it - its cheap 61p a bag if I remember correctly - easier than Quinoa to use

Thanks for the replies I knew I could rely on this forum

I guess from the replies that cous cous (which I have) is just as good and bulger wheat. It's basically just to add to some lamb mince and shredded beetroot etc when making lamb burgers.

I don't agree that it's the same. It is very similar but tastes slightly different. I like both but had a bit of a cous cous obsession a couple of years ago and cooked it loads. (Awkward) DP got bored of it and decided he doesn't really like it anymore but tried him on Bulghur wheat and he loved it!

I find the cous cous easier to deal with as you only need to cover with boiling water and stand with a lid on for about 10 minutes for the cous cous to be ready - I use it in beef burgers rather than using bread to bind it and nothing else - no egg etc but bulgar wheat looks as if it needs to be boiled like Quinoa Apologies as thought it was the same
