HiMy inverter is in the loft so I don't usually see the instantaneous power it is producing. I do however have an Owl type meter which gives me the net flow in/out of my house, though I understand these are not very accurate. This meter has peaked at about 3.8kW at times in June, when I was not using any significant power in the house.
There are 18 panels on my roof!:p
I'll post more data when I have a full 12 months in May.
A good proportion of this could be directly linked to the batch of panels you have. Sharp seem to have a very wide tolerance band on their panel output (-5%/+10%) where many other manufacturers use tighter tolerances (example -0%/+3%). If you are lucky you could have a system made up of panels at the top end of the band, so anything up to 3.96kWp+10% .... others, unfortunately, may not be so lucky ....
Do you have a copy of the manufacturer's flash test report for each panel you have to see if this is the case ?"We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit. " ...... Aristotle

No, I don't have the manufacturer's flash test report for each panel. I am surprised there is such a large variation in possible performance.0

for higher outputs sell the inverter on ebay
diehl platinum 3800s are shocking , old , ineffcient designs & physically huge/heavy
installers only fitted them due to the worldwide inverter shortage
this year or he got them cheap
fit a modern inverter for better FITs
sma sb4000tl-20 , fronius IG40TL , aurora pvi-3.6-outd
and get bluetooth & pc/iphone control
also can split arrays if shading is a issue across 2xmppt trackersJon/Cardew
My system consists of 18 X Sharp ND220E1 Polycrystallline PV panels connected to a Diehl Platinum 3800S inverter. The roof has an inclination(pitch) of 25 degrees and as I stated above faces about 40 degrees west of south.
Best days generation so far was 27.9kW on 22 June (close to longest day!)
Worst days generation so far was 0.4kW on 17 November.
For the first three months (May-Aug) I also had the benefit of a winding back meter, during these months we imported no electricity (despite using the electric immersion heater for hot water). My meter was replaced in September.
Cardew's comments reference expected performance were reflected in my installers estimate of performance. They have experience of systems in the north of England and as a rough rule of thumb expect about 700-750kW per annum per 1kWp installed.
However from 11 May until today (6.5 months) my system has already generated 2480 kW. (625kw per 1kWp installed).0 -
I'm now 3 months in and so far (its still very early days) output has exceeded predictions even in January which had much lower than average sunshine hours for the month according to a local news program.
Output as follows (based on a 2.11 kWp system in Bristol) :-
Nov (25 days due to new install) 68 kWh actual, 66 predicted for full month .
Dec 68 kWh units actual. 42 predicted.
Jan 77 kWh units 57 predicted.
Pleased with that so far and would like to see other peoples figures.0 -

No, I sent mine off to E.ON as soon as I received the MCS certificate and they accepted it straight away.
Which energy supplier have you applied to and what problems are you having?0 -
I sent mine to Scottish Power on 10 January and as I had heard nothing rang them this morning to check all was well. They found my application immediately I mentioned my post code - must have been me they found because they then addressed me by name and I'd not told them.Anyone had porblems with getting their application to the FIT accepted? They said they were running a full month in arrears due to rapidly increasing workload and I should hear from them within the week or two.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It was Scottish Power!
Was sent a form for SSE to start with, by my installers, who thought they were the same company, which I found out when I chased up the application. It took ages to get a response from them (Scottish Power). I then sent a new set of forms in midDecember- by post and email. I had to wait before I got an acknowledgement they had got the forms and then there was silence...
...except for a demand for a final invoice to prove purchase. When I questioned the need for this (having sent the installation certificate) there was a resounding silence.
I've moaned about the lack of response or information and was told that I had not sent an application in - this was by the person I'd actually sent them to, but when I sent her copies of the acknowledgement and emails proving I had sent the forms... she failed to respond at all.
Anyway, having sent an email to the CE and other people in SP, I've had an email today to say my welcome pack will be on its way soon.0
