New job..Do I need to tell them yet?

H works full time and I've been a SAHM for the past 5 years. We claim CTC and WTC.
I've just been offered a job working in my sons' school for 2 hours a week. This will give me an annual wage of £560!
Obviously, this means we won't go over the increased earnings limit for tax credits, which I think is £25k more than last years income.
Do I need to tell them now, or can I just wait until I get the claim form next?

Inform them, but they probably won't adjust the figures - just note that you are now working X number of hours (that's what they did with me anyhow)
  • Hi, i dont mean to sound thick but why does she need to tell them now?Surely she could wait until next year as she is not going any where near the maximum limit of £25,000.What difference does it make?

I would definately tell them now. Then they can't say they didn't know. It's is worth a phone call. There is an advert on tv at the moment telling you to let them know about any changes. Best to be safe than sorry.

    Thanks everyone for your replies.
I phoned them today and they took all the details .I asked if it would make a difference to my current award and the man said it probably wouldn't kick in until next years award.
I read on another thread that the £25k only applies if no circumstances have changed, and like emilyt said, better to be safe than sorry.
