Help with finding a reasonably priced childs bike

I've spent a good couple of hours trawling Amazon in the hope of finding a reasonably priced childs bike but i've had no luck. I'll be using gift vouchers to pay which restrict me to using Amazon.Co.UK (why the restrictions anyway?
) It's such a bummer because on Amazon.com childrens bikes retail for around 50% the UK price.
This Spiderman bike on .com is $53.68 (£29) and this Disney Cars bike is just $59.99 (£32) Yet i'm struggling to find anything cheaper than this one priced at £59.99 on our UK site. These high UK prices aren't just limited to Amazon as Argos and Toys R Us are as bad.
At the risk of sounding like a cheapskate there's no way i'm forking out over £50 on a bike for a 4 year old. Ideally i'd like to be paying no more than £35ish.
Can anyone offer any help?

Try your local paper, you often get ones that look like new. Obviously you couldn't use vouchers but should only pay about £20. You could also customise it quite cheaply with themed accessories from Halfords or a bike shop.

last time i was at the tip (now called the household recycling centre), there were loads and loads of kids bikes, mostly in perfectly good condition. i'm sure £5 would get you one. people probably find it easier to throw them away than to go to the trouble of trying to sell them.0

I've had a few from the tip - near mint condition too, I always asked the people who worked there if I could have them but our local one has clamped down on taking things and remind you that it is classed as stealing.
Just go down with the rubbish now and to get cardboard boxes. One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
i'm in the same boat as the op. I also saw a great superman bike on the american walmart for about 60 dollars, can't even get one for £60 here!!! Toysrus have a bike for £39.99 that looks alright - see link and good luck!! I on the otherhand have been told that i have to get a superhero bike - ie superman/power rangers so if anyone can help with that it would be appreciated. http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/TruHome/TruBikesWheeledGoods/TruBikesWheeledGoodsBoysBikes/TruBikesWheeledGoodsBoysBikes16To20InchWheel/726958?ref=Search0
