Reading various threads over the last few days - I feel a bit ashamed!
There's lots of people in much worse financial shape than me but I can't seem to get of my bum and sort it out... even though I know in near future my situation is very likely to get much worse.
I suppose if you've not got much money and no other options then you just have to get on with it but how do I face heading future financial problems off at the pass?
Apologies if I just sound like a wallowing moaning I-dont-know-what but I really don't know where to start...
Any help gratefully received

Hi
Might be worth looking on debt free wannabee thread for support, ideas etc. They inspired me to make a few changes that really worked. Try and just tackle one problem a day - eg. phone one company, write one letter, cancel one unnecessary bill , go to aldi instead of tesco .Hope things improve. Keep using this site and good luckOne day the big prize will be mine!

Take your time and have a good browse round this board, Mics chick. There are lots of money saving ideas here. But I think you might get some detailed help on the debt free wannabe board to get you on the right track regarding budgetting etc. I'll move your thread for you after I've found a couple of links from here to get you started.

Do you have a goal? You may need a financial reason to get you going. Is there something you want? A flat? A holiday? You need an incentive I think.:money:0

Have a look at the snowball calculator.
It was certainly the kick up the backside I needed and still keeps me on the straight and narrow.

I've finally got round to facing up to some of it...
Joint Debts:
CapitalOne £19900
Lloyds Platinum £5500
Family £2500
Luckily both credit cards are 0% at the mo but CapOne ends at end of the year... Yikes!
Our income is virtually none existent (approx £700 per month)
I'm on long term sick with PND (£300 Incap Bem)
OH has had low paid job until recently but now is off sick as well with anxiety problems (due to combination of long term problem and crap working environment) (£300 SSP)
Rest of income is approx £100 Child Ben
I know of one thing I could do to start with which is sort out Tax Credits but I can't face it for some reason... I think a good part of it is how I feel generally because of PND.
Don't know how to kick start myself...!?!
