Food sensitivity testing - worth the money?

I've had a few unexplained health problems lately and I'm thinking about going to Framar Health for food sensitivity testing to see if I can find an explanation.
Has anyone been for testing there and noticed a difference after eliminating things they said you were sensitive too?
Call me sceptical but I'm reluctant to fork out hard-earned cash if it's unlikely to do any good.

There was a feature on some program about food testing and it being a con, it might have been watchdog or something like it. They said that there was no way a test like the one suggested could work as it would only show up what you have eaten in the last week rather then what you should not have eaten.
But that might not be the same sort you are talking about.
I wouldn't pay for something like this though as I should have thought the first thing you would be asked to do is keep a food diary so that you can see if anything you have eaten has made any difference to how you feel.
Working out what if any food you are sensitive too would take quite a while I should think ( I struggle with milk but it is an almost instant reaction as I am sick )There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I think my doctor must be sick of the sight of me by now but I will ask next time I'm there. If it gets to the bottom of my odd symptoms it's worth a shot.
Thanks.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -

Thanks.
GP can definitely do the tests - I am on my second round of them. Some Homeopaths are really good with food intolerances, and generally cheaper than food sensitivity testing, a girl out around Dromara has a really good reputation, bit sketchy on names though, first name is either Vivien or Valerie and surname is either Hutchinson or Bell.
Good luck and hope you get it sorted!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
not sure about these food testing agencies, but a few of my older relatives eventually diagnosed themselves by trial and error. It took them considerable time to diagnose, but their doctor helped them0

Just a note about Framar, i went there several years ago for sensitivity testing (so it may have changed) but the "test" involved holding small vials containing samples of the various food types between your finger and thumb while having a very mild (imperceptible) electric current passed through your fingers. The electricity passed through some sort of amp meter device and apparently the current "spiked" whenever you were holding something you were intolerant to. I'm afraid I found it very hard to swallow (if you pardon the pun) the "science" involved in this type of testing.0

Put "bbc watchdog food intolerance" into Google and the second result should give you the Watchdog report and video.0

I've heard about a few people going for these texts and almost every one of them was told they were allergic/intolerant to dairy produce.
I just cant believe that we have eaten things like this for years and years and all of a sudden you become allergic to themThe Daily Mail
