Hi when i was 17 (4 months before i was 18) i started selling Avon but it was all under my mums details as i wasnt 18. All the goods and bills came in her name and i paid them. I got into some trouble and ended up defaulting but it was all in my mums name. Now there is a default on my mums credit report with my name and her date of birth, and the same on my credit report.
How does this work???

Probably down to whatever information was given to Avon by the rep.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
but the debt is in my mums name as when it was owed i wasnt 18. Surely they cannot do that as an under 18 cannot get credit??!?!?0

That is why the rep may have given your name and her DOB as the rep. Have seen it happen before. One day I might be more organised...........

Selling, as opposed to buying?
Sounds like you could technically be done for fraud.0 -
what? It was all in my mums name, she agreed to it, she signed it.
if its been done before is it allowed to give my name and her date of birth?0 -
Correct but the Avon area reps allow it to go on a lot, my sister did it as a kid, the area rep who was her friends Mam said it would be fine, then my Mam rang a family member who works for them (much higher up which we didn't mention) and she said the rep was wrong to do it but they make a lot of money from it. She advised my sister to stop before my Mam was landed with a tax bill aswell as it being fraud by her stating she was the person working for them not my sister. My sister was doing the work and was just in my Mam's name to avoid the age issue.
Regardless the Default is incorrect and should appeal against it being on the record, did they not send you details when the default was made ?One day I might be more organised...........

Should point out, had a similar issue recently...
Mum who applied using dads details (for cc). Defaulted on that. She passed away recently so this has come to light...
The defaults have been removed, however, a CIFAS listing has been put, and they would have got the police involved if she was still here. So be careful.0
