Hi,
i am considering laser 'permanent' hair removal and before forking out a fortune wondered if anyone has feedback.
to paint a really attractive picture, i have dreadlocks growing out of my legs! and rather than a bikini line a have spiders legs halfway down my thighs! as much as i have pale skin and dark hair i also have plenty of freckles on my legs and wonder if this would affect the effectiveness.
believe me if it works laser treatment would be life changing!
i have been googling and found not a lot really.
there is a small independent beauty salon in my area that offers laser treatment and a sk:n clinc not far away.
anyone with experience that can offer their views - i would be grateful
thanks

I've got dark hair and pale skin. I got myself a Boots Smooth Skin home IPL for under £300 in May, and first tried it under my arms for a couple of months, and then on the bikini area(well, the area of hair outside a small thong).
It's gotten rid of the bulk of the hair. Not perfect, as there's still some hair growing, but more slowly.
I'd recommend using this Boots thing as it's much cheaper than a salon, and then using the salon to try to finish off the rest.0 -
I really like the look of this.....

...but  at the price of £1300 ( still less than a course of treatment at a salon I would guess and in theory you have it for ever). It looks impressive but there is not much info out there abut it. If I had good friends or rellies who would club together I would consider buying one to share but it is too much to buy myself.0 -
There have been a lot of posts about various methods of hair removal, and from what I have been seeing, salon laser is the only way to get lasting/permanent results. There is still not an impliment that does it permanently under home use and, in my view, the technology is too hazardous for home use. The salon would be the answer; how about using Group Purchase sites like Groupon/My City Deal/Living Social and watch for deals coming up, look at old deals to see the dramatic price cuts that Group purchasing can achieve. Once an offer appears you can always look up reviews of that particular salon to gauge whether it's a deal or not.0

I had my lower legs done by a salon. After 6 weeks of treatment several years ago, I still have a 95% reduction in hair - so only a tiny amount is left and only requires a quick shave once a fortnight.
However, the Boots Smooth Skin didn't work well for me at all. It took ages to cover an area and, whilst the hair was temporarily reduced for a while, it all grew back again - even after many, many more treatments than the instructions recommended. I shall be returning to the salon for my underarms and bikini line to be done instead.
If you do go to a salon, then please see if you can get recommendations from people who have used them and are happy with them. Also ensure that they are qualified practitioners.0 -
There's an offer today on Groupon for 6 sessions of laser removal, works out at about 21 per session, its at Oasis on Baker Street. If you join the site you will be able to recommend friends and will be credited with £6 per recommendation. Hurry Hurry they are going fast and the offer is only for today.
Goatee beards could be history with this offer.0
