Hi
I applied for a co-op cashminder account last Friday and today i got an acceptance letter from them on proviso that I send them confirmation of my I.D.
I told them I was a bankrupt when applying so they took this into account when reviewing my application
Just thought a few of you out there would be encouraged to think positively about your situations
Good luck

Thanks Dave - I have also applied by phone as they don't have a branch locally - but very helpful.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

The good thing with the cashminder account is you can pay in or withdraw at a post office using your cash point card (co-op branches tend to be sparsley scattered), but you can use the online banking as wel..
We've actually got two cashminder accounts - one as the main account and the other as a savings account as we couldn;t get a normal savings account due to being bankrupt. We cut up both the cashpoint cards on the second one so that we couldn;t keep dipping into it. We use the online facility to transfer the money between the two accounts, but if we need to get our hands on it quickly, one phone call and they transfer it back to the main account.BCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0
