Yes Erme, I make corsets and wear them as everyday underwear. As well as support they instantly take two inches or more off my waist. :j

I have special outerwear corsets for going out, parties etc and underwear ones which are either black or white depending what is going over the top. The one in my pic is the first outerwear one I made. I had to go and buy a bra last year as I hadn't owned one for so long!!!:D

Do you find them comfortable enough to wear everday?

I have a few corsets myself & the ones with proper boning can be quite uncomfortable even for just a night out! Am I doing something wrong? I absolutely love them but almost always end up wearing something else due to the comfort factor :o

At the moment I wear one most days, from about 7am to 10pm. A few years ago I was waist-training very seriously and wore corsets 24/7, just taking it off for shower or bath. I managed to reduce my waist from 29" to 22" over an 18 month period. :D

A good corset shouldn't be uncomfortable, more like having a constant hug, and it does wonders for posture and a bad back too!

Wow that's pretty good! I need to start this properly I think, I did wear my best one for about 2 days but needed a breather & never put it back on again lol :p I blame my age, us young un's want it all & we want it now hehe.

That's another reason I need to do it - my posture is appalling & not helped by working in an office! Thanks for the motivation I am inspired to give it another go :D

and pray do tell...where did you learn to make corsets? And have you got any good links for making them....this sounds like a really good idea for frugal scaffolding :D

I am hoping to do my sewing class in the new year so it might be something to do for then...thanks so much stitchingwitch cos decent scaffolding aint cheap and I did get bad back pain yesterday @ work and I suffer with poor posture :)

    Hey all.

I am back, had a lovely time but I am tired and poor :(

Today I took my OH out for breakfast and gave him his birthday stuff
Had 2 hour journey this morning
Went to see my nan for an hour
Spent 2 and half hours catching up on competitions - that's commitment for you!
One load of washing done and hung up - will do another load before bed
    Used free texts
    Going out for dinner tonight

Hope everyone had a good day!
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

I have done six corsetry courses at a sewing school in Leicestershire and another one booked for February (waspie corsets this time). She also does a bra-making course, but I'm sure you could search for courses nearer to you. There are loads of instructions on the internet and a couple of good books too. This one is fairly basic: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Basics-Corset-Building-Handbook-Beginners/dp/0312535732/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1290193917&sr=1-1

    Hello there dfw friends

Hope you're all having a lovely evening.

:T:T Go stitchy with the 22" waist! That's amazing! I like the sound of getting a 'hug' all day too :D

I'm having a quiet night in with the tele tonight. OH has just gone out.

    Other small things:
    • Did balance transfer - 0% for 6 months...
    • Free cuppa in work
    • Helped someone with work and he bought me a beer - fair swap I thought... :D
    • Pennies in the jar - thanks for the reminder Lotte :)
    • Might make myself a wee G&T - just spotted some gin in the back of the cupboard - Result! :D
    • Need to tidy up and clean the bathroom. Boo. Maybe a G&T will make it easier :rotfl:
