1 cup, 2 cups or a mug of Douwe Egberts Senseo coffee freshly brewed in under a minute. Quick and convenient, brewed at the touch of a button. Always the right balance between coffee and water for the full smooth taste of coffee with a delicious crema layer.

Thanks in anticipation (offer until 23rd Nov)

we got given one of these a few years ago... unlike some other machines, it makes coffee, and nothing else... which is all we'd want it for anyway, and the coffee it makes is very nice...
if you live in a hard water area, you are best off using filtered water as i know a lot of them, including ours, were recalled a year or 2 ago due to problems arising from limescale buildup
the only money saving down side is that there's very little variety in the coffee you can get for it, and what you can get is never ever on offer at the supermarket, so it's about £2 .50 to £3 for 10 pods of coffee... not very much if it's for one person, but adds up very quickly if for more
    hope this helps

You've hit the nail on the head - coffee coffee coffee. I am a bit of a hot chocolate/mocha/latte/cappu kid so it'll have to be Tassimo or Krups if I want a spend up!!
  • I have one of these & I much prefer it to Tasimo / others but thats purely because the coffee pods are douwe egberts much better than nescafe IMO.
You can however get a selection of pods for them, as the senseo machine is very popular in Germany & Holland. Keep an eye out on ebay you can get some amazing hot chocolate from memory its suchard & is mmmmmmm scrummy :o you have to buy in bulk (say 100 pods) but its worth it & sometimes you can get a mixed variety inc different coffee strengths/flavours the vanilla is great!
I agree in the supermarkets they are very very rarely on offer, but I think that normally they are cheaper than Tasimo etc.
    HTH!

  • Also take a look at Coffeepodshop.co.uk - there's £5.95 delivery but worth it if buying in bulk & can get pods that are not normally available in supermarkets.

We have this and it's used constantly. Sometimes Poundland has pods - they've had Kenyan and Brazilian so far. It's used for OH's coffee as he doesn't have anything fancy and is happy with plain coffee pods. I'm just about to order the new square one for him as ours is 4 years old and leaks a bit now. I would recommend it to people who like a proper, plain coffee and don't mind paying £2.50 for 18 pods.

Tassimo doesn't use Nescafe - they have Kenco, Starbucks or Carte Noire. and you can get other specialist ones online. Anyway, just thought I would let you know the latest model Tassimo is reduced from £99 to £65 in Morrisons atm. They had a gorgeous chrome and white one.

Have had mine for a year now and regularly order my cappu, mocha, dark, etc, through coffepodshop, there is a great range that we dont get here in the uk, click here for a link here . Read through them to find best offers and trial packs, lets you try out the new ones. Got a free paddington bear with mine.
I was astounded at how quick the delivery was seeing as its coming from europe, ordered on a saturday and got it on the monday!!

    Hope that helps
Sorry forgot to say, lidl's also sell a range of 3 coffee pods for £1.50 (18 in pack), kenya, brazillian and columbian. Very reasonable coffee!
    :)
  • Pa has asked for a coffee pod machine for chrimbo so am tempted to get him this....
I've seen on eBay the refillable pods that you put your own coffee into - just wondered if this was any good?

I got a Tassimo last year and tbh im not keen on the coffee, I drink tons of coffee but just can't get on with it.
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!
  • I've got another question, sorry!

Is everything on coffeepodshop for the Senseo? Some things don't even sound like they are actually pods but I'm not sure!

No there are different things, best to search for pods in the search bar or go through the menus on the left.
    hope that helps
