Bit Worried About My Health

I have frozen right shoulder which I have physio for and have recently had a little op on my right thumb joint last week and also have gum disease on left top side of teeth which is getting better but plan to get some Q10 for that.

Anyhow had an aching eye socket on my left eye at work yesterday and eye felt tired. My arm was aching as usual with the frozen shoulder.
During the night I developed a sensitive sore spot on left side on top of scalp and left ear was aching too and sore throat on left side too.

I feel a little better today but I always feel tired, tonight not feeling very hungry, I had bacon butty at lunch and normal breakfast cereal.

I just feel not right these days and slightly down but ok.

I wonder whether i just had a little infection in my ear.
Just feel bit worried.
I have not had any sick leave for two years and dont intend to as I have to feel really ill to be off work, also I lose money (dont get full sick pay).

I am taking multivitamins etc no painkillers for shoulder, and have a good diet of pasta, fruit yogurt, semi skimmed milk, some chocolate, occasional glass of wine, and Im not overweight, low blood pressure, 5ft 6 and 9and half stone so pretty slim.

I would say go to your GP and see about getting a blood test done. Thyroid may be something to look into. I went to mine about pain in my knees that was bugging me after months but it turned out to be a quite serious nerve problem all over my body. Don't want to scare you or anything but these little things can all add up. Plus a blood test will show if you really are healthy or if there is something else happening that you don't realise.

Ah, we can't give health advice on here! I'd suggest either calling NHS Direct or talking through everything with your GP who will not only be able to give you a qualified answer but will also be able to get any tests and reassure you if your worried.
  • Definitely see your GP to check things out, also have a word with your physio about different aches and pains (because weird things can happen when a body is trying to compensate for things like frozen shoulder)

Just wanted to add that I've had loads of really weird pains happening and very tired and my dr confirmed that I'm definitely in the middle of the change (climacteric) before menopause, so if you're a lady of a certain age it really is well worth getting checked out properly, so you know what you're dealing with.

  • Yes I am 43 and been getting more grey hair, also stubble in places on my chin which I use a small epilator on and skin is dry and sometimes sore or itchy.
My periods are light and last three days only. But I dont have hot sweats or anything.

Im going to get Q10 as advised on my previous posts and have a healthy diet, not too much alcohol etc and always stay in at weekends.
I been having nightmares too (this may sound silly but I have a 17 yr old mx5 and its my only car) but I always have tearful dreams about it being stolen or damaged by vandals and wake up in tears in the middle of the night.

Um - what advice are you actually looking for?

Did you just want to get it all down or do you want us to say "ah well - it's obvious really... X is wrong with you?"

As for not taing time off work - yes it may cost you a little in lost earnings but in the long run it will probably be better to get whatever is wrong seen to and resolved. I had pleurisy a few years ago and was adament that I couldn't afford to take time off work. It took 6 months for me to be fully better...

So make use of the amazing service that is the NHS and get yourself better.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Im voicing my concerns thats all.
Im going to raise with my doctor anyway on my day off.

Ask for a full blood count test. If there's anything wrong it has a good chance of beig picked up by the test. Good luck.
