Hi
Well, i am officially the worlds worst cook. Yesterday I managed to completely blacken the bottom of a very prized le crueset dish of my hubbies (and i completely ruined the dinner too  )! I have tried to scrub the black off but its not budging.
Is their some way i can get the burnt bits off?? I really don't want to have to throw it away.
Many thanks xxxxx

cover it in a very thick paste of bicarbonate of soda with a little water added, then sprinkle it with lemon juice and watch it fizz. Wait about an hour, it should wipe off.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Soak it in water with Biological washing powder in itSorting my life out one day at a time0

I agree with the last post make sure the water is warm neither cold nor hot because you want the enzymes to do the work. Leave for about an hour then rinse and repeat if necessary.0

another vote for soaking in bio powder & hot water ! (done it here too)0

soda crystals are brilliant for doing this - cold or hot water it does not matterSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Hi!
My mum did this with cheese sauce to her huge Le Creuset casserole (in that flame orange colour!)
She put in on the back grass and sprayed it with Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner, left it for an hour and it all came off.
Not sure that's particularly OS, or even good for the enamel... but it worked0 -
I do this all the time, too busy on here reading posts that I forget about my cooking. Even the kids know that when the smoke alarm goes off the dinner is ready!
I burnt the base of my streamer the other week and I used about a tablespoon of bicarb topped up with white vingear to just above the burnt bit and within 15 mins it could be scrapped off with my finger.
Here is a pic of me burnt pot.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0
