Weyhey, I can see the sun!!!!:j
What a fabulous weekend weather wise and it has made me feel very productive.
DH had some temporary work over the weekend which meant I had the house to myself - lovely! Both kids had sleepovers on Saturday night too!!
I have done loads of baking (have been really lazy with this lately) made 3 banana and chocolate cakes, strawberry flapjack, mediteranean veg and feta roule, fish pie and apple and strawberry crumble. Also cooked us a lush mushroom curry on saturday night (25p mushrooms, 20p peshwari naan and 25p bhaji and samosas!!), the strawberries were 25p a punnet too!! Meal planning done for the week, no need to buy anymore food (well maybe bread and milk!)
Have cleaned the house from top to bottom, spent some time attacking the loft and organised my present stash so it is all in one place.
Stumbled upon the fact it was free-listing weekend on Ebay so spent yesterday afternoon listing 12 items that I definately DO NOT want to list on the normal 99p free listings, 1 watcher so far.
So feeling quite virtuous today!!
Have a good day

Hello !!!! ( creeping in with tail between one's legs)
I'm sooooooooooooooooo sorry i've not been around - to cut a very long story short, my finances went completely out of control, who have i got to blame (ME!!!!!!!) - i've had my head firmly in the sand as it's all been too scary to comtemplate starting from square one all over again and the realisation i'm living a lifestyle i can't afford
So please accept my absolute sincerest apologies at leaving you alone for a lengthy spell - but i'm back with avengence (may have avengence, shame i don't have money too:rotfl:) and easter school holidays is always a fab time to start budgeting (NOT!!) but the girls are gonna have to learn, as will i (AGAIN!!)
I hope to check through the posts and bob back on later xxxx

Yeah, Trixies back:j:j:j
I'm glad you're ok and it was just a case of 'head burying'!!! Was getting very concerned!!.
My finances are out of control too, too many birthdays etc at the start of the year. Determined to do better from now on, holiday next week then frugal, frugal, frugal!! We are still well stocked so should get away with no 'big' shop this month, just fresh items, bread, milk fruit and veg.
DS1 was home at the weekend, arrived with flowers for me, ahhhh. He has given the kids spending money for the holiday (£50 each!!) and they have been given £10 each by my parents so they shouldn't need any more than that. We are going all-inclusive so shouldn't need much money at all. It is lovely to see DS1 but every time he comes back it means a 50 mile round trip to our local big town, which usually leads to some shopping or other (oh we'll just grab so and so while we're here!!!) and then the kids get hungry/thirsty, this week I said NO eating or drinking while we're out, its going to be a quick visit!
I have been quite good again this weekend though apart from a meal out last night for a friend's 21st. Baked 2 more cakes, used up food from stores and aim to carry on doing that all week to run down perishables before the holiday.
Payday on Thursday, will sort out budget before then so I know what I can afford to take away.
Ebaying went quite well, listed 12 items and sold 5, Made almost £60. Will relist the other items after the holiday. Gonna start going through the loft and list 99p things each week and facebook larger/heavier items. Also I expect the carboot sales will start again soon (but it better warm up before then!). Have also got about £20 due from a survey site so will arrange for that to be paid.
Still in a dilemma about work, don't know which way to jump!! Got a health issue that is weighing on my mind so that's not helping as the new job I have been offered has very poor sick pay compared to what I have now. Decisions, decisions..........
Anyway, looking forward to a full update soon Trixie, that is if your head is above sand now!!!
Take care

Thank you so much for being so gracious about my absence
xxxx
Right then, back to it...........Holiday, ooh ooh, celebrate tra la la (my rather rubbish Madonna impression - now i'm showing my age :rotfl:) - I'm sooooo excited for you, just think next week you can shake off the cold weather (Brrrrrr) and get some sunny rays - it will make you all feel so much brighter and give you chance to recharge your batteries ( make the most of gathering some Vitamin D, it may be the only time you get chance what with our summers!!!:rotfl:)Well, today i'm at work for a rest!!! - the girls were bickering all day yesterday and got right on my nerves!!, so left them at home with DH today- may be off of work tomorrow (depending on whether its authorised) so if i am i won't be back in until next Tuesday (Yay!!)
Lots of birthdays just around the corner, DH's dad's, His parents anniversary, 2 x Nephews, 3 x friends and godson (oh and mine!!) all in April !! - Tut!!
Plus need to buy easter eggs for my girlies, both my godchildren, 2 x nephews (other 2 nephews already bought) 3 x friends children + neighbours little one!
Think i may make some easter cupcakes instead - will be much cheaper!!
Going to have to work out budget shortly, as pay day Thursday (Thank the lord!!:rotfl:)The attic is starting to get a little full again in light of Ebaying having been on the back burner of late so that needs to be addressed over the holidays to bring in some much needed revenue!!
This month main focus needs to be meal planning as shopping budget has been ridiculous over last couple of months - spending far too much and ending up with little to make meals with, i've most definately taken my eye off the ball!!
Note to self, find a lovely flapjack recipe as both girlies love it but mine tends to be rather hard and crunchy (teeth crackingly so:D)
It's such a relief to be back!- speak soon hunny xxx

Hi Trixie
I think we must be related or something, so many similarities, I have OH's birthday on 1st April (explains a LOT believe you me!!) and my Dads mid April and then 2 days later Mum and Dad's 50th anniversary. Loads of birthdays in May too, infact the first 5 months of the year are just constant celebrations of one kind or another, nightmare!! Oh and I too am of the Madonna 'Holiday' era, remember the net gloves and rara skirts!!!
Have cut right back on easter eggs this year, none for our kids (we'll be away) and just bought for my 2 nieces, cut out friends etc. The cupcakes sound like a good plan. I find alot of kids don't even like easter egg chocolate anyway!
Can't wait for the holiday tbh, it's been a really stressful year and loads more to come with the job situation, just going to sit around drinking cocktails and hopefully soaking up some rays!! Will be nice to be able to relax with the family and not feel I should be doing something.
Like you this next month is going to be ebay and meal planning centred, focus!!!!
I have a really nice flapjack recipe, really soft and chewy, I will try and remember to post it for you, I think the secret is to make sure the mixture is quite deep in the pan, like the nice soft flapjacks you buy, I usually double the quantity when I make mine. Also give Twink's hobnobs a try if you haven't already, the recipe is on the forum somewhere, they are yummy and cheaper to make than true flapjack.
Hope you get your leave granted and enjoy your days off, fingers crossed the girls don't bicker too much!!!
Right must fly, good to have you back, 'speak soon'

Hey lovely lady,
Just a quickie to wish you a very lovely holiday :j - have fun, relax and enjoy xxxxxx
The days are just flying by at the mo, as they always seem too when the girls are on school hols!
I sooo remember the ra ra skirts!!! - I had a white one edged in different colours which was my prized possession!!! and had the lacy gloves too, I thought I looked the bees knees:rotfl:
Well, the easter cakes seem to be going down well instead of eggs, I do feel a bit mean but i'm gonna have to get over that as it's more my perception of what I should give than those who are receiving (if that makes sense!!)
Off to my mums today for lunch and egg hunt, even my 11 near 12 year old still loves the egg hunt, i'm guessing if it was hide the vegetable rather than choc egg she'd be less interested
Gonna have to sign off now as on our way out in a few mins, how a fab time hunny and 'speak' on your return xxxxxxxx

Hey lovely ladyIt's been a little while again!!, life really does seem to be flying by and i do find the more i spend the quicker it flies and the more i budget the more time drags - i'm guessing that's not really a good thing, lol!!!Well, for a change (NOT!!) finances are a tad (ok rather a lot, ok completely) rubbish!!We've now secured a loan to pay off most of outstanding credit card debt, so now we have a loan, one credit card and one catalogue balance - so much for reducing the debt, we seem to be actively gathering more!!!So, yet again it's back to square one - when am i going to learn???We've got tons of things to save for at the mo too which really doesn't help!! My mum's birthday is coming up shortly, DD1 birthday in a few weeks (she would like money plus we're taking her and a friend out for a meal ), my brothers 50th a couple of weeks after that, the car needs servicing and it just goes on and on.........Hope all is ok with you and yours hunny xx
