Avcs And Tax Relief

morning all
i make avc payments into the standard life with profits fund through my employers avc scheme, following their recent floatation i have recieved from the trustees a letter telling me that they have paid a sum of money into my avc fund. The trustees recieved one fixed allocation of shares and a variable amount of shares, they have all been sold and the proceeds paid out pro rata to the avc holders. my question is, should i have recieved tax relief on the amount paid into my avc and if so how.
thanks

Windfalls are subject to tax, not eligible for tax relief. You should be able to avoid paying tax on yours though, as you are getting the money inside the pension tax wrapper.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
