I started a subscription with Lovefilm last month but due to financial circumstances (OH being made redundant) decided to cancel it.
I called their cancelation line (0870 number unfortunately), they asked me why I wanted to cancel, explained situation... they offered me 3 unlimited package for £14.99 for 3 months, that is £4.99/month!!!!

I suppose that if you have run-out of free dvd offers, unlimited 3 for £4.99/month is not too bad... :D

I haven't seen this advertised anywhere on their website so I suppose it is just a case of ringing them and threatening to cancel!
