Hi there
im in another spot of bother.
heres my situation...
im temping at the moment, desperately on the hunt for a permanent job.
im earning £200 a week, most of that goes on bank charges, food and transport costs.
I need to pay:
£530 rent and bills by Oct 20th
£300 old gas/elec bills asap
£160 travel card asap
£500 i owe my partner for last months rent asap.
i am also paying £50 a month to payplan for old debts.
I have seriously bad credit so cant get a loan unless its one of those dodgy ones you find in the back of the newspapers (an avenue i stupidly looked into this morning) and i cant borrow any money off of family or friends.
am i completely stuck?
i am...
any advice... any .... is really really appreciated.
thank you!!

Pubs and Tesco have loads of part time jobs going cant you try that to fill up your hours untill a permanent job turns up?0

i was thinking the same, i was really thinking that i could get some evening work at the pizza place up the road from me.
but my problem is that i dont have stable hours. sometimes im home from work at 7pm, sometimes its 9pm, then i leave the house again at 7am mon - fri.
i do have weekends off, maybe i'll pop by later tonight and see if they will employ me for weekends only.

Hi Pennylane
Looks like a tricky situation...it would be helpful to have an overview of your whole situation so could you possibly post up a Statement of Affairs (SOA) which is basically a list of your incomings and outgoings. We can help you claw some money back so that you can get out of the cycle of overspending. Here's a link for advice on how to post one:

You say that you are paying bank charges? Do you know that you can try and claim these back? Many many people have been successful! Look here:

Sorry to hear about your situation but you are clearly falling behind with priority debts yet at the same time paying £50 per month via Payplan towards old non priority debts. My advice would be to call your case officer at Payplan and get them to look at your budget again, you clearly cannot afford the £50 a month.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

What about going for a weekend job somewhere like Debenham's on the run up to Christmas? All the department stores are desperate for staff and you might get staff discount....0

thats a good idea too. i'm going online right away to look for something like that.... there has to be something i can do!
thanks!0 -
