The PETZL Tikka Plus costs around £25 normally. EBay are selling them for £21 but if you know of anywhere else where I could get one cheaper please do let me know.
Thanks

Don't know about the make but I bought 2 different headlamps from Aldi for < £5 each - they're great. They have them in every few weeks.0

And I had a great Tikka from my local indian last night :-)Do not speak- unless it improves on silence.0

Very funny davet  :rotfl:. I’m not sure if it is any good for mountain biking caraboo. My brother wants to buy one for another of my brothers for his birthday. He uses his for walking; he's a member of the Ramblers.0

I've got one and I've used it for night time orienteering. It's small and light but your OH may find that the beam doesn't light up the landscape enough at speed. The bigger Petzls are better but they are also bulkier and weigh more (and more expensive). If he wants to see up ahead then he's better getting a bulb headtorch with adjustable, longrange beam, the simple LEDs aren't as bright.
I know adventure racers who use a Tikka on their MBs but they use them for weight, if he's going out for fun at night and isn't worried about weight/bulk he's better off with a lamp with a decent beam.
IMO the cheaper ones are fine for pootling around in the dark but Petzl are head and shoulders above in terms of beam length and battery life if you're relying on seeing the landscape to win a race or survive.
BTW...OP I paid £30 for mine :rolleyes:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
thanks for your advice - will advise OH of my new knowledge.bargain babe0

Thanks Jay-Jay. I will have a word with my brother and see what he says. He did mention to me when he asked me to look for him that there are better ones alright.
