New Windows?

I'm thinking of getting new windows at the front of my house, the back ones are already done, just wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with local companies?

  • There is a previous thread from earlier this year that might be of assistance:

We used Fairco McIlhagga and they were a complete nightmare. It took us a year to get all the problems sorted out and we had to get The Glass and Glazing Federation involved. I did hear rumours that they had called in the receivers since then though.

Woburn Windows seem to get good recommendations.

Maybe someone can give a more recent recommendation for them?

We used Turkington's in our old house - maybe slightly pricier than some others, but miles better quality than the ones in our new house (which I would guess came from somewhere like Fairco McIlhagga, which is indeed in administration).

Thanks for these replies - I've sent off an enquiry to Turkingtons to see what they come back with.

Easily the most professional website I've seen - not that that proves everything - but it does suggest they have some idea of how to do things right.
  • I'd highly recommend Budget Windows, they replaced our old doors with PCV ones and they did a conservatory for my parents. All work was brilliant, parents were chuffed with them, stuck to their timetable and was reasonably priced.
We're looking to get some patio doors for our new house and will definitely go back to them!
