pc world fraud
i could really do with any advice people can send my way. in december last year i had alot of fraud taken out in my name, all of which has been written off. but the person that commited the fraud went into a pc world and brought £1500 worth of stuff on credit which is through hfc bank. I have been arguing that i didn't take out this agreement with hfc eversince and they still refuse to wipe off the debt. I have tried the financial ombersman but they say that because i state i am not a customer they cannot get involved.
The agreement was a year payment free which ends at the start of december so they will start chasing me for the money then.
Any sugestions please.

Do you know this person and how did they get your details the second time? If this person commited fraud without your knowledge then how do you know the goods were on a 12 month interest free deal? Why leave it this late to do anything about it? If it was me, I'd have had everything sorted by the start of the year at the latest. I feel you're not giving the whole story as something doesn't seem to quite add up.0

well to cut a very long story short i was forced to take out loans by this person and myself and family were threatened if i didn't go along. I found out about it half way through december when i recieved a letter from hfc saying i had brought items from pc world through hfc, after this i went to the police and CID investigated everything for 4 months but could not find him.
by the time i had finished sending letters back and forth and gone to the FOS it was already half way through the year. but then decided to concentrate on getting one fraud sorted out at a time because its been very stressfull, all of which have now been writen off [but not without a fight] so now i'm on to this final one.0 -

Now that doesn't make any sense whatsoever! If, as you say, YOU were forced to take out these loans, then how the hell could you not know about them - I mean, how can you suddenly find out about a loan that you've taken out?after this i went to the police and CID investigated everything for 4 months but could not find him
Why wait until you receive the letter from HFC about the loan that YOU had taken out (that you claim to have not known about!) before going to the police? Why not go to them straight away...
The situation you describe does not sound like fraud to me as you did actually take out the loans - nothing fraudulent there.
The conditions under which you claim to have taken out the loans are a different matter - but it doesn't sound like fraud. Sounds like a police matter - doesn't sound like the creditors will (or should) accept the loss or responsibility as you knowingly entered your details to obtain the credit - because you gave the goods to someone else is not their fault. If you had handed over £500 out of your wallet, would you expect your bank to refund you?
Saying that - I don't know the law and am happy to be corrected by those more knowledgeable than I - everyday should be a school day

Sorry I'm not making my self clear, the loans were previous to this and a separate matter (its all very complicated) then from these loans he got the information to take out further things lnc. Bank accounts ,phone contracts and credit cards to name a few without my knowledge. All of which have been found to be fraudulent. I didn't go to the police until I started finding out about all this other stuff because he was telling me I was going to get the money back for the loans and I was also scared. Stupid I know but I thought if I go to the police then i will never get my money back for the loans but when I started finding out about other stuff he was taking out I knew I had to.0

Simple: write to HFC explaining you didn't purchase the PC. Tell them you have reported the matter to the police and pass on the crime number and details of the officer who investigated the matter.0 -
Thanks but tried that. Hfc say that if the police Carnt find him then I'm still liable.0

I think it sounds confusing because you are writing it as if it were clear to us all. Can you slow down and do in date order
1. this happened
2. then this happened
3. then this happened
to help us understand?Debt free 4th April 2007.
