RBS Mortgage,

I have a mortgage with the RBS and currently overpay every month as my dd is set up. But I would like to put money into the mortgage sporadically throughout the month, how can I do this without actually going to bank, or having to call the bank. I do have online banking but my current account is not with the RBS.

  • My mortgage is with Nat West so I assume that one with RBS will be broadly similar in terms of the systems they use. I can overpay by bill payment through online banking, cheque or by debit card. Just give them a quick ring and they should be able to advise.
  • unsure how that helps foreclosure?
  • i hav bank account with lloyds on-line and can o/p into my hsbc mortgage on-line anytime within 5 secs

set up your rbs mortgage account on-line then should be no problem

  • I do have my mortgage account online too so do you just make a single payment into that account? Would be handy if I could just do that.
  • Just tried and A&L wouldn't let me make payment into Mortgage account with the RBS
  • first payment should be setting up direct debit from current account--into mortgage account on-line

after that Fast Payment On-line facility kicks in

    Hi,

I'm with A&L/Santander for current account and mortgage is with Barclays (Woolwich). I just contacted Barclays to get the account numbers and sort codes (and any references that may be needed) and then set up a standing order to OP every month out of the account. If I wanted to make any other payment I would just do a payment through the online Payments/Transfer facility using the same account and sort code details as the SO.

    Hope that helps,

  • Ok Spiggle, I have tried that now but not sure if it has worked, says its sent but not into mortgage account yet, will allow a few days for it to transfer. If this works you have possibly saved me thousands!!!!
