I would recommend trying the Tassimo before buying, either from a shop demonstration or a friend - we went to John Lewis for a demo, and I'm glad we did as we thought the coffee was terrible. Obviously depends on personal taste, so try before you buy - we tried cafe creme, expresso, cappachino and hot chocolate, and I wouldn't rate any of them as drinkable. It was a bit embarrasing as the demo lady kept suggesting we try something else!

We're going to get a nespresso instead :)

    Love it !:T
Instead of heading to the coffee shop for a pick-me-up during a fraught day of Xmas shopping - I'll just head to the kitchen/cookware dept and ask for a demonstration of all their flavours !!

I had a demo last week, of another home type coffee machine. Now that one was delicious. Only trouble was I was so long making and drinking it, that I went over on my car park, and had to pay for an extra hour - so the coffee ended up not being free:rolleyes:
  • I have to agree with jm2926 - I have had an nespresso for years and last christmas brought my mum a tassimo as I thought she would like the coffee and hot chocolate. I thought it would be easy for her as she only needed to add the capsule ( unlike the nespresso, if you want to make hot chocolate you need to froth the milk)
I was really disappointed with the quality - the cappacino was not frothy at all and the hot chocolate had a burnt taste. So please taste before you buy
  • Costco have it for around £58 including vat at present. It comes with a box of cartridges.
They were giving out free samples today. While it tasted good, a latte works out at 37p and the cartridge seems a waste. It doesn't strike me as money saving compared to a regular filter/expersso machine or even a paper filter machine. Also it is not a very environmentally friendly machine due to the plastic cartridge you have to throw in the bin every time.
