A little tip I've found that has given me a boost!

I'm lucky enough to have a job, albeit one which I'm not particularly taken with. Since August I have been applying left, right and centre for positions to move into and have had the grand total of 2 interviews and 2 rejection letters from around 150 applications. I am an experienced PA, with Marketing and HR skills so I could essentially work in pretty much any industry but I also know that there are plenty of people fighting for jobs like those.
There is a particular location which I would love to work in (very industrial based) and I couldnt find a way of locating every business in that location.
I tried google maps streetview last week and just took a virtual stroll round the area, noting the names of the companies based around there and emailed my cv on spec to them. I've had 2 calls today - one to say that there will be a position which would suit me in the new year and they will call me for interview when its advertised and another to say thanks, but no thanks.
Not a bad return on an hours research though! I'd recommend it!
