I was worried about the reviews too. Mine arrived last week. I thought the quality was excellent, considering the price too. The pictures are a bit small but but not as tiny as the reviews make them out to be. They are big enough to see. I edited my pictures in word (got a box to the same size as the picture then cropped and shrunk the pictures to match). I changed them to gray scale as I wanted all b&W images. Then I printed all the pictures on one sheet of photographic paper and cut them out.

It looks great (if I do say so myself). And no mine doesn't have a battery cover either.
