What do people pay to live in shared houses?

Hi
My son has been to look at a shared house today----it is a lovely town house--shared kitchen, bathrooms and lounge|(think there are 3 bathrooms!).The guy is asking £300 a month which includes all bills. His room is furnished too. I went back tonight to have a look and it really is gorgeous in a lovely part of town. He does a few others to look at over the weekend. Is this a fair price?
Thanks

I reckon so. I'm down in the SE and £300pcm would be about average, maybe a bit on the low side for where I am. Bargain if it is all in and no bills on top!

:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Gilly I paid (this last year) £250 for a room in Sunderland but it was not what you would call nice!! :rotfl: I think if the place is good and the guy seems nice £300 is totally reasonable and (if I remember correctly) you lived in a slightly more pricey bit of the north east than central sunderland?!

I live in a shared house in Manchester. It is a 4 bedroomed house. It is just over £250 a month but that doesn't include bills. I would quite happily pay £300 if that included bills. Especially for a nice house in a nice area.0

when i shared it was 300 a month, inc all bills. not a nice house and not a particularly nice area (and as a girl living with two guys standards of being clean were rather different!!)0

Yup, I guess depending where you live £300 is about the going rate, and with bills it's a good deal in my opinion. We've had three housemates in a good size house in Farnham, which is quite a nice area, and we've charged them £300pm all inc. Plus we've got Sky and wireless broadband which really sells. In my old house I charged my lodger £400pm but it was in like the poshest area in Guildford!! Although the house was about the same size as a shoe box!£2 Coin Savings = £0.23
