When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Good morning  erggghhhhh back on the hamster wheel after a day off :( & have gone to put heating on as its freezing & the whole system has conked out, so no shower :(:( Will have to call HA and get someone out...

(on a brighter side yesterday couldn't have gone better with dd and she has agreed to come over on Sat evening for film & take away :) (ds very suspicious of her around his stuff and unable to trust her, which I understand why but hope he can try to forgive even if he can't forget))

Today:
  • No shower...:o (may have to go round in laws tonight) so embarrassing :o:o:o it wasn't broken dd had turned it off at the boiler instead of the timer :o
  • [STRIKE]read martin's email[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]check banking x 2[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]make sandwiches before work[/STRIKE]
  • send orange wed text to go to cinema tonight :Ddecided to watch a film at home instead saving £8ish + petrol ;)
  • [STRIKE]charge phones at work, batts completely died yesterday & had left charger at work...[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]get (batch cooked) sauce out of freezer for super speedy dinner tonight ;)[/STRIKE]
  • work out expenses & do form at work
  • [STRIKE]email payroll & let them know I am working xmas day so they do my 3x salary for the day :D[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]surveys if I get a chance[/STRIKE]
  • phone & book MOT at the test centre (have fully serviced & repaired my car in the last few weeks so it should go through with flying colours ;)) nope :o
that's all I can think of right now, have a very happy wednesday everyone :A

(I managed to do everything off off yesterday's list, v proud of myself! :D)

  • Morning DNM - working Christmas Day?!:(
Hooray for Wednesday - tis the day of college, which usually means a skive at home, oooops:o In my defense, the sesion today is a visit and I'm not doing the topic in my assignment, so why bother going?!:)
My dd2 has a stinking cold and has been up and down all night anyway so she's staying home seeing as I'm off, so I'm tired too as she sniffed and snuffled all night;)

Ok, better get on - list:
    • check banking, hope no more has been swiped from my account:mad:
    • all meals from home
    • tonight's dinner from plan - chicken curry
    • heating off or low - feels milder today
    • keep doors shut in the house, keeps rooms warm - have a right draughty hallway
    • wrap parcel for ebay
    • read Martin's email
    • check onepoll
Ok, that's about it - have a fab day people:beer:
I really need to sort out a new signature!

I see ya, DNMS! Just rushing around like a maddie trying to get into work a bit earlier...shall update on lunch hopefully...

    This morning:
    cheap porridge for brekkie
    find something for lunch
used Lush solid shampoo - v MSE as lasts for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages!

    xx
  • Morning all, bit less chilly today :) I have lunch to take to work today, but have to pay for Avon (bought a few little stockingy bits for the kids and some half price bubble bath) and have to do a bit of a shop, but feeling confident I can stay within my grocery challenge budget. Got petrol yesterday and if I'm clever shouldn't have to top up again this month :) Challenged the water company about the rise in my bill last night but they're not having any of it and said they won't review my payments for six months :( Never mind. Right, must dash, dull meeting first thing :(

Have a good day everyone :)

Morning all *yawns*, bit sleepy today as my OH had to be up at 4am  to go to work as he's having to go to the Liverpool depot & sort things out...won't be back until about 10pm & it's his birthday today, worst timing ever :(

Anyway today I either already have or will:-
    • Organise bills/accounts paperwork in a better fashion
    • Find a box template I can use for cupcakes for xmas presents
    • [STRIKE]Update spending diary[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Catch up with my best mate either via Facebook or free texts/mins[/STRIKE]
    • Put through cashback claim if it's still not registered today
    • [STRIKE]Put the £2 coin I received yesterday in my piggybank[/STRIKE] Recieved another one today so a grand total of £8 saved :D
    • [STRIKE]Ice OH's Birthday cake[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone at work[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Try to post that hair dye to Belgium again today - I googled it & saw no importation laws regarding hair dye so think the Post Office lady must have been having a silly moment...[/STRIKE] Posted! :D
    • [STRIKE]Hope OH's last present arrives today else he's getting it late! I knew I should have spent the extra on p&p[/STRIKE] He will have to wait :(
    • [STRIKE]Pay in OH's cheques[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Take back 3x Xmas mugs I bought for hampers & buy 3 more in a different shop as it works out a whole £1 cheaper lol[/STRIKE] Yay £1 saved
    • [STRIKE]Check ebay for new payments later[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Leave feedback[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys if time allows[/STRIKE] Done all available to me
    • Enter 10 more competitions if time allows
    • [STRIKE]Read Martin's email[/STRIKE]
    • Go to tkd - the more I go the cheaper the session works out ;) & since OH won't be home anyway :(Icing took longer then I thought so missed this one...it's now nearly 11.10pm & he is still not home, what a horrible day!!
Wow that's a long list today! I will end up carrying a lot over no doubt but as long as I get the main bits done I guess I can't complain.

Hope everyone has a great, moneysaving day x
