Skin Bleaching

Recently I've been looking into bleaching my skin. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience in this area? How much did it cost you, did you notice a difference, how long did it take? etc.

I have my own personal reasons for wishing to bleach my skin. When I was 14, I was attacked and had my neck and face slashed. Thankfully the physical scars have faded and are fantastically smooth - thanks to bio oil (which I found recommended on this board). Problem is the scars are pretty much white, and I'd like to try bleach my skin to make them less noticeable as I am SICK of slathering on concealer/foundation/powder in layers everyday! I'm only 20 and I'm sure it makes me look years older!

I have a very goth look anyway and usually use makeup to make my skin paler, and tons of dark eyeliner :P

It is something I've been wondering about for years.

I've tried at home remedies such as using lemons without much success. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if they could recommend any products.

Thank you!

i think you may be better asking a dermatologist, or at least your doctor for this one
  • Honey and milk are also supposed to be skin bleaches.
  • I'd also consult a professional, as you may find that bleaching would not be very good for scarred skin.

Skin bleaching is very common in Asian and African cultures and the dangers frequently advertised.
If you have not already seen them a free service is offered by the Red Cross on hiding facial scars http://www.redcross.org.uk/skincamouflage

i agree, best consult a proffesional in scar covering first.
im a regular to my local asian supermarket where they stock all sorts of skin lightening products,i find it rather frightening the lenghths people would go to to achieve such a look

mixing lemon juice and milk together, and rinsing your skin in it can help, I've used this in the past.
But you do need to use it everyday, at least once, and keep at it before you see any results. I think it took....maybe 2-3 weeks before I saw a difference
