Sainsbury's coupon

I don't shop at Sainsbury's that often but when I went there last week I was given a coupon worth £4.50 off my next shop of £30 to be used by 19th November.
Does anyone know if this was given to me due to the amount I spent? Do I get another one if I spend £30 or would I need to spend more? It is one to be used with my nectar card.
I am trying to be moneysaving and not buy too much but it's not a bad discount

They are given out randomly based on your nectar card info. Sometimes people get 3 vouchers, sometimes just the one. If you spend £30, you might not get another voucher or you might get like £3 off £20 or £4 off £40, 60p off when you buy xxx product.
It's all up to the computer on what you get.0 -
For quite a few weeks I used to go into Sainsbury's for a pack of Tea Bags, and would get £2 off £20 spend! Have not tried it for a few weeks as have been away, but will be back in there next week to see if I can get another voucher to save on my Tesco shop! Absolute bargain, spend 38p and get a voucher worth £2.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I haven't had actual money-off till vouchers in ages. All I get now are ones offering extra points on stupid things I would never actually buy. I wonder if I am spending too much there and if I spend less then I may get the money-off ones to tempt me back."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I only shop at sainsbugs when they send me coupons - I have just received 4 x £4.50 off a £30 spend which are useful in the run up to Xmas.
If anyone has a phone (iphone or similar) that you can get the nectar app on then the usually have triple nectar points deals - you just activate your offer and it gives you extra points to your card when you shop. As I don't use them very often I don't build up too many points but I have a few extra from this.0 -
I work for Sainsburys and I think its based on average transactions at Sainsburys using your Nectar card. My vouchers are the triple points if I spend £40. I don't spend that amount per week. But then again, I have purchased PS3, saucepans, wine (at least £80 a time), computer games, clothes, toaster and kettle at Sainsburys. Plus when I lived with my parents, I did the food shopping for them.
There are two sisters that shop together and go through my till and their vouchers alternate between £5 off £50 and £6 off £60. Its always the way they only spent £52 when they have a £6 off £60 voucher.
There was a customer who refused a £3 off £10 TU clothing voucher when she was mentioning she was getting a top once she got paid next week! I would like to tap into some customers' minds!0 -
I don't shop at sainsburys very often but for the past two months I have been sent tokens for each week for £12 off a £70 shop0

Could be. I don't shop there all the time because our two nearest Sainsburys are both pains to get to, but l recently had 6 vouchers £8 off a £40 shop sent to me, one per week for the next few weeks. Needless to say l'm using them
Also, they don't seem to have restrictions we had the Ltr bottle of Baileys and some other drink yet it came straight off without deducting the alcohol and presents cost.
I love Sainsburys and would shop there every week if our two nearest shops weren't in the middle of busy towns and one way systems to cope with
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
I think it is dependant on what you spend.
I shop quite frequently and spend around £10 each time. I get the "spend £30 and get triple points" coupons. My mum however does a weekly shop and spends around £60 plus yet gets "spend £80 and get triple points". Never going to spend £30 in one go! For a start I'd never be able to carry it all! But I just don't have that kind of money. Still, I can give my coupons to my mum as they can be used by her.0
