Last week I posted on here about a scam I had been a victim of and the person contacting me was under the guise of the above name. I have since spoken to the Director of that company who was kind enough to telephone me himself and it is a company in India who are using their name and registered office etc to introduce themselves. cheaploans.co.uk have a perfectly good reputation. Just be very careful of the scammers.

Do you have any idea how the scammers got your details?? Was it from an enquiry with cheaploans??0 -
So did you contact the correct company in the first place for a loan? or did the scam company cold call you originally?berbatova998 wrote: »cheaploans.co.uk have a perfectly good reputation.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

No I did not make an application with cheap loans but with several others so it is quite difficult to pin point which one passed on information to the scammers. The police are now involved - all I know was that the scammers were based in New Delhi India and were very persuasive.:(0

Have you actually read some good reports on the internet or is that what the director told you?
No that is what the Director told me - I haven't looked to be honest - am so upset by the whole thing0 -
Possibly a coincidence.
"Cheap Loan" scam emails are all the rage at the moment.0 -
my son went on the cheaploans.co.uk website and submitted a loan application. he made the mistake of paying out over £500 upfront and no loan happened. When I was advised by my son, I investiaged and found a manchester telephone number 0161 884 0935. I contacted this number and spoke to several people and stated that my son wanted to cancel the loan application and wanted a refund. They knew about my sons application and the amount paid, stated they would not cancel and would not refund. When I mentioned that trading standards had advised me the legal right of cancelation they said they did not care.0
