grey washing/stinky washer

just wondering if anybody could help, my little boys school t-shirt has been washed that many times that it has discoloured even a boil wash hasnt brought it up clean does anybody have any magic solutions lol.
and another problem is that after going into the utility room last night i relised there was an awful smell coming from my machine, i have read somewhere before that you can run a homemade solution through the machine but cant remember what it was.

i would be grateful for any ideas

just stick white vinegar in the draw and pop it on a boil wash but dont waste it running it empty i do this regularly and put my towels in works a treat and doesnt smell

I've done this too. I used a whole bottle of white vinegar as it reeked... Didn't do a boil wash tho, just 60c.

It was at a holiday place, not my own machine... It was great after its vinegar treatment

re the school top, try one of those net curtain whitener packs?

as a prevention for whites going grey, add a tbsp of napisan to each white wash
