DH loves meat, not so keen on fish but will eat it, DD(5) will try most things and she knows that we expect her to try them and i will try practically anything!!

tonight i am planning on using the chicken and mixing it with some mayo and the mango chutney and having it with jacket spuds - DD will have spud and cheese
i was thinking of making some sausage pasties with half the piri piri sausages as i can make enough enough pasties to last us 3-4 meals, with the other sauages making a sausage and pasta bake using the green pepper, an onion, bit of garlic and the brocolli
the leek and pot soup that's in the fridge i will be having for luch this week and what ever is left at the end of the week i will freeze, DD will have a portion of the soup from the freezer on friday night and myslef and DH will have something else as he gets in from work late!
after that i am stumped, so any suggestions anyone can come with with i will be very grateful
thank you0 -
Those are good ideas so far, you're on the right track

I'd eat as normal (well, still bulk meals with lentils etc, keep expensive meat/cheese to a minimum so it lasts) until you get down to the odd bits that don't really go together. You can make a delicious potato bake by layering slices of potato and onion topped with a tin of tomato soup(or chopped tomatoes) and sprinkle of cheese.
Is that batter mix the kind you add milk to that could make yorkshire puddings? You could fill yorkies with mince, lentils and gravy, served with veg. Or do veg in the hole
Check out the recipe threads and other threads similar to yours as they'll have lots of great ideas for using up odd bits of food. Google recipes with a few of your ingredients ie "recipe red onions batter" returns recipes for onion rings, toad in the hole and sweetcorn and red onion pancakes w/chilli dip! You might not have the ingredients to follow a recipe exactly but you can get inspired by it, say make just the pancake recipe and use your own jar of chilli sauce.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

i like the idea of a potato bake with a tin of soup - DH probably wouldn't but now isn't the time to be fussy!!
the batter mix is the type to make yorkie puds! we always just have them with a roast dinner but i might have to try something different - off to google a few ingredients now!
thanks again0
