    I think there is a deliberate policy to keep inflation on the up for as long as possible. The aim of this is to ease the pain of the over the overstretched - individuals, corporations and the government.

    I dislike this as it is basically bailing out those who have bust themselves at the expense of the prudent.

    But, if I were them I would do the same. It is the least bad of a set of bad options imo.

    Except that if the overstretched went broke the prudent (unless they had gold under the mattress) will lose out as the banks fail.
