Is it possible? The underside of our very new matress has gone all vile and mouldy, we always air the bed on a morning but we had it straight on the floor for a few weeks before we got a bedframe and it seems this has set it off. It cost a relative of ours a LOT of money and we could never afford a new one, please tell me there is someway to get it clean again.

What is the make and model of the mattress?
The reason I ask is that there are a couple of brands that seem to be prone to this, and they seem to be refunding or replacing them.0 -

That sounds like a suggestion worth following up on.
it DOES seem odd for the mattress to go mouldy so fast - and I dont think it can be healthy to try sleeping on the mattress after that. Even if you clean the mould off the outside - it could have "migrated" to inside the mattress.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Its a Sleepeasy Marquis Medium Comfort - how can I find out if this is a funny one?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

is the mattress cold, damp and mouldy.I had to throw a mattress away because it got mouldy. The mould in the mattress is bad for you and no matter how hard i tried to clean it the mattress had a musty smell and it also felt cold. Sleeping on a mouldy mattress really isnt good for you because you can inhale the mould spores even if they are on the underside they still penetrate inside the mattress where you cant see. I binned mine because it felt unhealthy and the mattress felt damp and i was waking in the morning with my body aching and it wasnt because i needed a new mattress i truely believe it was because it was cold and it felt cold even though the room was warm0
