Pending transactions

Hi folks,

Looking to pick up my first credit card here in the UK and I was wondering which one displayed online any "pending transactions" i.e. the transactions that make up the difference between the cleared balance and the available balance? I find this incredibly useful.

Does the Halifax Clarity show pending transactions? I like their 0% foreign currency fees.

If no credit cards show this online, are there any debit cards that do so through online banking?

Thanks

Halifax doesn't (neither does Sygma and Barclaycard).
As far as I can tell, Capital One does have a menu for pending transactions (and sometimes they are incorrect, as they are not posted.) Haven't heard of any other credit card doing it.

If you get a "full auth - online" debit card, it should show all transactions that are accepted otherwise it must decline them - but the floor limit still can play tricks with you.

The "full auth" cards are considered worse though, as you can't use them in some situations - petrol or train stations for example, and various merchances.
    Enjoy the silence...

Halifax Clarity doesn't and it can take 3 days for the transaction to show on the account.

Capital One does and it shows as pending the instant the transaction is made.
  • Great, thanks guys. Unfortunately it seems Capital One have high foreign transaction fees. You just can't win!

Hang on, from doing a search it seems HSBC display pending transactions? From their debit cards?
