Suspect Wii discount will be a bundle - i.e. they will price the Wii at full price and add some old games/accessories at full retail price (many of which could be found at much lower prices anyway) and then the discount applied. I hope I'm wrong but there really isn't much margin in the Wii console for them to give a 60% discount (unless Amazon only have a small quantity to sell at a loss in order to gain media coverage and customer interest).

Well, the first hit on Amazon today for the Wii is a black console package priced at £139.99, reduced from £179.99.

So if that is one to be offered for sale it will be at the fantastic price of £71.99.

The concern for me is that Black Friday starts at midnight Sunday, so by the time most of us wake, will it be all over bar the shouting?

And if not (as Amazon are to spread the offers) then do we have to keep searching the site for whichever one gets reduced, for the rest of that day (I really would get no work done!).

I don't mind limited offers, just the inability to plan to either race for the offer, or not to bother. For example if I turned up to the Harrods sale at 3am and there were 1,000 in the queue, at least I'd know not to bother.

I'm due to pick up the Tesco offer later today (Console and Wii Fit Board for £159), but at least i can return it if I manage to get the Amazon deal later in the week.

Oh blimey, just re-read the original post, these are spread over 5 days !!!
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

Yip i totally agree, think they will only have a handful of the items people realy want, xbox, wii etc. No way they could take 60% off their entire stock. We all know amazon change there prices by the minute so i can imagine what they want is for us all to be glued to their site while Black friday on. I can see them maybe having the wii etc at 60% off for a minute or so then putting price up as interest shown(as they usually do). Hopefully there will be other items at good prices:D

Oh my thats a fab price, is it a past offer/ glitch? I really want one for xmas!
  • Not a glitch, but a limited offer that came up last week on Tesco site.

Price before reduction was £224 or £234 (I forget), so a good deal no doubt.

But if I could get an Amazon for £72 then buy the Wii Fit board for £70, I'm still in profit.

Will have to be very lucky to get something in this sale unlike on black Friday in America

Why Lucky, is it limited stock or will Amazon usual promises come into effect?
