I've only ever tried them after my mother's turned them into wonderful marmalade.

Sounds like a missable experience, to me (-:

I wouldn’t say that it makes me bitter but when driving it does annoy me when you let someone out in front of you and they can’t be bother to say thank you.

Definitely. This seems to happen far more often now.

Oh scraping ice off the car at 8.30 with temps being -4 and 2 kids complaining about everything from frost on the car to seat not being pink enough to idiots who seem incapable of driving because of a little frost. Not exactly makes me bitter but it sure did pi$$ me off this morning.

I find the term "taxpayers' money" to be grating. Once your tax is taken it is the state's money and you have elected politicians to spend it. Agreed, "public money" shouldn't be wasted and savings should be made where possible, but they never seem to tax you any less. "Taxpayers' money" is a super term if you are a politician and you want to outrage the plebs.

I hate the whole A* thing, no doubt soon to be A** or A*** or A**#/*. Either the exams are easier than they used to be or the kids are far higher achieving. I would argue that the marks that differentiate an A from an A* tell you far less about a young person than sitting down with them and having a good chat about what makes them tick. Back in 1988 I scored a mere grade B in my GCSE maths (I was predicted, by my asleep-on-the-job teachers to fail) and yet my maths has been demonstrated superior to a young A grade A level maths, economics graduate (first), trainee accountant with whom I am friends through sharing a hobby. Of course in our new order a B is a fail and anything less than a first condemns you to the call centre. Many, many successful entrepeneurs in the world lack formal qualifications or are education drop-outs.

I hate tired, old, uneducated HPI cliches. It's bricks-n-mortar, you can't go wrong, safe as houses, house prices only ever go up, blah, blah, blah.

Can't abide the private vs public sector hatred. Divide and conquer is what it is.

I saddens me that the sheeple not only drop their wooly breeches, bend over and take it rough and unlubed, they also turn on those who have the courage to refuse to do so.

I liked a lot of what you hate. I mean I hate a lot of what you like to hate. :)

The herd don't them what deviate from herdthink. It destabilises their worldview. And rightly so.

Point is, the herd can change direction at any time, and it's in the best interest of the herd to ridicule the anti-herd, before the anti-herd lead the newly-directed herd.

And that is why there are so many witless nutters WHO_TALK_GHOULISHLY as opposed to genuinely engaging in the entertaining debate we wreak for ourselves.

what annoys me is complainers, those who just complain, for the sake of it. ive been waiting 15 mins for my dinner in a restaurant... AND?

What also annoys me, is the fact its still easier not to work, and claim benefits, and free housing than it is to work, pay for housing, and worry about what happens if you lose your job and the fact you could be out on the street.

What also annoys me is the fact the government for the last 17 years have taxed me, whilst I have been contributing to the government MPs getting child benefit, now, that its my turn, they are turning off the tap. NICE.

What also annoys me, is the government moving the goal posts all the time, Pensions SERPS, etc when I think im doing the right thing building up my own pension, yet, someone who hasnt worked, etc, will get the same pension, I think its wrong, and it should be effectively salary related, what you pay in reflects what you get back out.

There should be no poverty line, you should make do with what you have. Any your motivation should be, you work hard, then you prosper... this hasnt been the case for the last 10 years, youve prospered doing NOTHING!
    Plan
    1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)
    2) Make healthy savings, spend wisely (Doing)
    3) Ensure healthy pension fund - (Doing)
    4) Ensure house is nice, suitable, safe, and located - (Done)
    5) Keep everyone happy, healthy and entertained (Done, Doing, Going to do)

    Ok what grates on me....

Childcare providers who say they cater for disabled children and then when you ask them to cater for them, make excuses and run a mile, thereby making it impossible for me to take a 'normal' hours job and then having the competition from all the other mums wanting school based hours and probably having more experience than me because they have been able to go in as parent helpers, something I couldn't do because of the boys needs.

Ex hubby for moving 400 miles away and wanting little to do with his children and when, oh surprise, they react against him, he then blames it on me for 'poisoning' his children (all I have ever done is defend him in front of the children when they have been moaning about yet another phone call not returned or picked up)

A person in the car behind me flashing his/her lights and getting irate because I am driving to the speed limit/road conditions.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • See? Renting is really pretty low on the list of annoyances. :)

So why is it certain "homeowners" (read: mortgagees) get so fussed up about a bunch of us who are footloose and fancy free, not wedded to a corrupt property market that is in the midst of correcting itself?

Oops! I think I just provided the answer. :)

Perhaps it is jealousy and thus the projection of their self-loathing upon others? What a Freudian !!!!!! that would be. ;)

The one thing that has annoyed me is the media banging on about the "engagement"
