natwest product fee

i am wanting to take out a fixed 5year deal with natwest, the product fee is £199 i do not want to add it onto my mortgage, but pay it separatley. they have said they will send details out with fee added onto mortgage, then i pay £199 to them, and then they take fee off mortgage is this a normal practice.

Yes. Typically the ees are added a sub account or similar and you can pay that at any time after the mortgage is advanced.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
